Project Spotlight
WESTON PARK BAPTIST CHURCH
SvN is partnering with Castlepoint Numa, Giannone Petricone Associates, and the Weston Park Baptist Church on the redevelopment of lands for the Weston Park Baptist Church.
Steps away from eh Weston GO commuter rail and UP Express Station, the Weston Park Development is planned as a Transit Oriented Community at the intersection of Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue in Toronto. The mixed-use project will bring residential, commercial, and a variety of community spaces to the area.
The site includes the Weston Baptist Church that will be moved to create a large plaza at grade, and the heritage flatiron building that will be preserved and integrated into new community and cultural facilities for the neighbourhood. This public amenity will include a large multipurpose space, a sanctuary and performance hall. Additionally, a full-sized gymnasium, a community gathering space off the public plaza, and support spaces. These spaces are being programmed alongside the Weston Baptist Church and the community to satisfy the needs of existing and future service providers in the Lawrence-Weston Neighbouhood.
The two residential towers rise from the community-programmed podium and provide new housing for residents that is in short walk from several transit lines. They compliment each other with unique forms and expansive views of Toronto’s iconic Humber Valley. Further to the stunning architecture, the buildings are designed to consume less energy, meeting or exceeding a number of sustainable initiatives.
