Understanding the look and feel of materials as well as how they can come together is a critical aspect in designing. In this project, one is asked to take the material wood, and explore the various aspects of tectonics, joinery, and connection. The physical detail is an opportunity to explore a detail element in design that may inspire the overall design concept.

In Project 2A, the objective is to conceptualize a detail and construct it. The main material of exploration is wood, however, the details may involve a number of other materials of your choice. The detail could explore interior or exterior aspects of design. The scale of the detail should appropriately represent the concept and shall be of scale 1:1, 1:5 or 1:10.
