DEATH OF THE “HOMO AUTOMOTIVIS”

Andrea Bickley

Due to the environmental destruction and high resource consumption of the Homo Automotivis, the use of all gas-guzzling automobiles has been banned. With the damnation of the Homo Automotivis came the extinction of the Suburb. The existing infrastructure that used to serve the Homo Automotivis now has a new function; it serves as home, garden, and public space. The small self-sustaining communities of the highways are navigable by environmentally-friendly means. As a result, the spaces that were previously congested by the automobile are now accessible to all.
