Community in Exterminism

Jimmy Hung

When civilization is pushed to the brink of destruction with an exhaust in world resources, only the people that have power and wealth can live in luxury. The elites decide to separate themselves from the rest of the world, settling in the azure landscape only known to the gods, the sky. Residing within the moving clouds, every now and then, cloud-like funnels will form, emitting light and waste down to the lands below. The rest of the impoverished people, dwindling in numbers, has forgotten through time, and believes this is an act of a deity. The trail of waste acts as a gathering space, a time of worship and celebration. A community is formed by the event as children play and the adults collects. The landfill dropped from the underside of the new world becomes a stage for culture. Without realizing, the elites are in control of their lives, similar to our own.
